What is the cost of Membership to this site?
Anyone can obtain a Free membership to this site and upload one video for sharing.

What is the maximum length of a video?
You can upload a video up to 99Mb in size or up to 10 minutes in length. You can Index an existing video from YouTube of any length.

Who produces these videos?
All content on this site is created by your neighbors, friends and other people just like you. Videos are a starting point for community dialogue on a wide range of issues, from citizen journalism to artistic performance. The Santa Barbara Channels and its employess, agents and assigns are not responsible for any content uploaded by any of the members of this site.

Will someone help me create my own video?
Staff is available in the Media Lab at the station to assist members in the creation, upload and editing of any video, GreenScreen or Vlog for the .NET site. Members will be notified of any upcoming Free Classes or New Media Seminars at the Media Lab.

Are there any limits or restrictions on the content of videos uploaded to this site?
All content contained in any video uploaded or indexed to this site must be non-commercial. Advertising or qualifying statements ("It's the best") for products or services are prohibited. Videos may contain INFORMATION ONLY and may not contain any solicitations for money or compensation. Any content that may be considered commercial will be deleted without notification. Additionally, all content that may be considered "Adult" (coarse language, violence) in nature must have the "Family Filter" function turned "ON". Any content that may be considered indecent will be deleted without notification.

How do I create my own Channel?
First, become a Member of the Santa Barbara Channels. Then upload videos or index your videos already on YouTube. Once your videos are approved by a site Administrator, they will be available to "Add to Channel" by clicking the button below the screen in the video player.

I Registered but I didn't receive a Confirmation Email- what should I do?
Responding to the confirmation email is required to activate your membership to this site. Some free email service providers such as Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail block the confirmation email in their Spam Filters. Please ask CMAC Staff (or email the webmaster) to Delete your Membership record, then Re-Register after putting the email address "webmaster@sbchannels.net" in the "Whitelist" or "Acceptable Senders" list of your email provider.

How do I contact Technical Support?
CMAC Staff can answer most of your questions by phone at 805-963-3893 during our production hours. Emails requesting Technical Support information can be sent to the webmaster.

What is a GreenScreen?
A GreenScreen is a video of up to 10 minutes in length where the subject is "Keyed" or "Chroma-Keyed" in front of a green wall. The green portion of the screen is replaced with a movie or a still image selected by the user. A high-quality GreenScreen studio is available to Members in the Media Lab at the Santa Barbara Channels during production hours. Staff is available to Members for assistance in the Media Lab.

What is a Vlog?
A Vlog is a regularly produced (usually weekly) video journal or "Blog" that may contain opinions or comments on any subject. A Vlog Producer must be a Member of the Santa Barbara Channels. Vlogs may be produced at home or at the Media Lab and then uploaded. Staff is available to Members for assistance in the Media Lab.

How many Videos can I add to my channel?
A Member may store up to 10 ten-minute videos or up to 100 minutes on the .NET server. However, a Member may Index up to 50 videos if they are already uploaded to YouTube.
